You understood my personal "challenges" very well and gave me ways to work with my personality instead of against it.

Make A List

Greetings!

Well my daffodils are up and the tulips are right behind them. I love the Eastern Red Bud tree. It is in full bloom with beautiful purple flowers. The flowering Quince will bud soon with a dazzling fuchsia color. I am waiting for the peach trees to blossom and the busy bees to pollinate. Isn't it amazing all the colors that come with Spring!!!

April is Stress Awareness Month. What are you doing to reduce the stress in your life? Yoga, a brisk walk, seeing a movie, spending time with your children or taking time out to just relax and do nothing at all. I give you permission to DO NOTHING. It is good for the soul and it does rejuvenate you!

Don't forget that April 15th is Tax Day. Hopefully all of you have completed your taxes. If you haven't completed your taxes you need to file for an extension! Make sure you are on top of your taxes for this year. Have all your tax files organized so tax season is easy next year.

April also has a couple of special weeks we can celebrate and take action. The third week is Organize Your Files Week. Find a system that will work for you. You can file things categorical where you group files all belonging in the same category. Color Coding is another system to track files. My financial files are green, my action files are red and my resource files are yellow. Paper Tiger is another method to file things and it is done numerically and it really works!

The last week in April is Administrative Professionals Week. Don't forget to do something special for your secretary, administrative assistant or clerical assistants. I could not be with out my virtual assistant. She is fantastic and assists me with getting my newsletter out to you.

Happy Easter!

Cynthia

Make A List

A little list-making today will save you major headaches in the event of identity theft. Keep these in your bank box and/or home safe.

  • Record a list of all your account numbers and corresponding phone numbers. Include credit cards, checking and savings accounts, insurance policies, and investments. Also list other important contacts' phone numbers: lawyer, financial planner/broker, insurance agent, accountant, executor of will, etc. In the event of an emergency, you won't waste time looking up phone numbers.

  • Make a copy of everything in your wallet. Include driver's license, credit and debit cards, library card, ATM card, membership cards, and medical insurance cards. Line up cards on a copier or scanner, copy, and then turn over the cards and do the back sides. Store in a safe place that you can access quickly, such as your home safe or a file folder at home labeled "emergency." If your wallet is stolen, you won't waste time trying to remember what was in your wallet. You'll be able to call the customer service numbers on the back of the cards to cancel and replace them quickly.

  • Record a photo inventory of your home and its contents. In a notebook, write descriptions of room contents next to each photo. Should you have a fire or theft, your insurance claims can be processed quickly and smoothly. Or videotape your entire house. Update this inventory yearly, including appraisals (if necessary), and keep receipts of big-ticket items, such as electronics, collectibles, etc. Also, regularly check to be sure your homeowner's insurance reflects the current value of your home and contents.
